Road to Emmaus

Were not our hearts burning within
as we walked upon the road.
Scriptures expounded one by one
about Himself, he told.
“How foolish you are and slow of heart
to believe the prophets claim;
that the Christ would suffer and die
bringing glory to His name.”
And when at last He sat to sup
giving thanks, he broke the bread.
Our eyes were finally opened then;
To Jesus!
Our Redeemer!
Risen from the dead!
